Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds beef cube steak
- Seasoned salt (My Y'all Salt works great!)
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups unsalted beef broth
- 1 packet (0.87 to 1-ounce) brown gravy mix
- 1 can (14.5-ounce) diced tomatoes
Instructions
- Lightly season beef cube steak with seasoned salt and dredge in flour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sear each steak for 4 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
- Prepare the sauce by combining beef broth, gravy mix, and diced tomatoes in the skillet.
- Return steaks to the skillet, boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until tender.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
Let steak rest before slicing to retain juices.
This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
