- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Brown the ground pork sausage and ground beef, breaking it apart.
- Add diced onion, bell pepper, and celery; sauté until tender.
- Mix in garlic, spices, and flour until combined.
- Pour in chicken broth, add bay leaves, and simmer until thickened.
- Remove bay leaves and fold in cooked rice and parsley.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes and serve hot.
Notes
Use day-old rice for the best texture.
Adjust spice levels according to personal preference.
Allow meat to brown fully to enhance flavor.
