  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth (Halal, alcohol-free)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (Halal-certified)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (Halal-friendly)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Form the mixture into 4-6 patties.
  • Cook patties in olive oil in a skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onion until caramelized.
  • Stir in beef broth, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Thicken gravy with a flour slurry; simmer until desired consistency.
  • Return patties to gravy; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve with additional gravy.

Notes

Use 80% lean ground beef for juicy patties.
Avoid overmixing the ground beef mixture for tender patties.
Allow the gravy to simmer longer for a richer flavor.
