Hot Honey Chicken

Hot Honey Chicken is a delightful dish that combines crispy chicken bites with a sticky honey glaze. This crowd-pleaser blends sweetness and spice, making it perfect for family meals or entertaining friends.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes (approx. 18 pieces)
  • 3 cups corn flakes, ground in a food processor
  • 3/4 cup unseasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (adjust as needed)
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • Canola or vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)
  • 1 cup honey (suggestion: Southwest Local Hive Honey)
  • 2 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Prepare the hot honey by simmering chili flakes and honey in a saucepan. Stir in apple cider vinegar and cool.
  • Mix ground corn flakes, panko breadcrumbs, chili powder, and paprika in a large bowl.
  • Dredge marinated chicken pieces in seasoned flour, then beaten eggs, and finally the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat oil in a pot to 325°F and fry chicken pieces until golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Drizzle hot honey over chicken or toss together for an even coating before serving.

Notes

Ensure oil temperature is right for frying to avoid greasy chicken.
Rest the fried chicken on a cooling rack to maintain its crunch.
Adjust chili flakes in the hot honey to control the spice level.
