Cream of Mushroom Chicken

Cream of Mushroom Chicken is a flavorful and comforting dish that combines tender chicken with a rich creamy mushroom sauce. It’s perfect for family dinners or gatherings, easy to make, and deliciously satisfying.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, chopped small
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, add chicken tenderloins, and brown for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove chicken and tent with foil. Sauté chopped mushrooms in the same skillet for 4-6 minutes until softened.
  • Whisk in flour, gradually add chicken stock, then milk, and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create sauce.
  • Return chicken to skillet, coat with sauce, and simmer on low heat for 13-15 minutes until cooked through.
  • Serve over noodles or grains.

Notes

Using wild mushrooms enhances the flavor of the dish.
Whisk slowly to prevent lumps while adding chicken stock.
Simmer gently to meld flavors without overcooking the chicken.
